Each year the Young People’s Department at the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library takes part in some special community events. Join us this fall semester for the JCPD Block Party, All Treats Day, Luke's Baby Shower, and the 2nd annual Junction City Hometown Christmas celebration!
- February 16, 9:00 a.m. – noon—Junction City High School gymnasium: Winter Carnival--Sponsored by Geary County Infant Toddler Services, this carnival brings together area organizations that serve families of early learners. Each organization has a booth with a game and prizes. Carnival games are free. Donations will be accepted as a fundraiser for Dorothy Bramlage Public Library’s book donation program.
- April 6, 10:00 a.m.—JC Nazarene Church (1025 S. Washington): Luke’s Baby Shower--If you are an expectant mom, join us for this special event! Luke’s Baby Shower is a biannual event that offers pregnant moms the opportunities to learn safe sleep techniques for baby and to discover the community resources available to babies and their families. First arrivals the morning of the shower win free Pack ’n Plays. Additional door prizes are also awarded. Moms are welcome to bring a support person. Childcare is provided. This event is sponsored by Delivering Change: Healthy Families - Healthy Communities and is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration, Maternal & Child Health Bureau grant #H49MC27818.
